Quick beta update from the Populous team and, more importantly, a thank you. Watching people use the product has been humbling in the most useful way possible.
Based on what we saw, we shipped a few important fixes:
- Password reset is now live.
- We rebuilt population creation. The old filtering flow was confusing, so we added a chat agent for basic population creation and cleaner dropdowns for fine-tuning.
- We fixed the loading experience. It now shows logs by default, so you can see Populous building populations in real time instead of wondering whether it died.
- We improved simulation reliability. Some runs were failing because we were pushing our APIs a little too hard. That has been fixed.
The biggest change is about workflow. Many of you were starting in ChatGPT or Claude anyway, asking what your population looks like or what to test next.
That told us something important: value matters more than forcing you into our UI. So we built a custom GPT and a Claude MCP connector, so you can work directly in the platform you prefer.
We also moved to a simpler domain: populous.app
This is still a beta, and we are treating it that way. We are listening, iterating quickly, and building around how you actually work.
